Frequently Asked Questions
DOWNLOADING
“I can download my magazine, but it opens up as a blank document in my Adobe PDF reader. Why is this?”
It sounds like your PDF reader is not up-to-date. Please try installing the latest Adobe Reader, which can be found for free, here: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html. Once you have this installed, your magazine should open up just fine. If problems persist, please contact support@zoopublishing.com for further assistance.
“My download link doesn’t work! What can I do?”
You have 48 hours to download your magazine from the link provided. After this time you will need to request additional downloads. You can do this through Payloadz, on your download information page, or you can send a request by email to: support@zoopublishing.com who will distribute a new download link to you manually.
“Wow, the magazines are big! What if my computer can’t handle downloading such large file sizes?”
Please don’t worry; we now supply our magazines as both low resolution and high resolution versions, so whatever your preference, simply choose from the two different files supplied with each download link!
“I’m having problems downloading from the link provided! Please help!!”
It could be a faulty link, but please do not worry! Simply request and additional download link, either through the Payloadz download information page, or by emailing support@zoopublishing.com. Please also note that, due to the number of subscribers now downloading each new issue of 3DCreative / 2DArtist magazine each month, Payloadz.com can sometimes suffer under the strain of everyone all tapping in at the same time to download their new magazines when the new issue goes on sale. Please be patient when this happens and keep trying the link! If the problem persists, then please contact support@zoopublishing.com for further help.
SUPPORTING ZOO PUBLISHING
“I have a CG website and I am interested in showing your banners on my site! Do you have an affiliate scheme and, if so, what are the benefits of it for me?”
We certainly do! We have an affiliate scheme whereby CG websites support us by promoting Zoo Publishing banners for either/both 3DCreative and 2DArtist Magazines on their sites, and they earn 75% of each 3DCreative Magazine sold, and 50% of each 2DArtist Magazine sold. Please contact lynette@zoopublishing.com for more information.
GENERAL
“Why are the PDF files password protected?”
Please understand that our magazines are password protected to protect those artists, and yes, us too, that feature in our magazine. We cannot allow their, or our, work to be copied, cut up and generally messed with, as we are sure you all understand. Artists work with us because they trust us to protect their rights, and we cannot do this if we allow readers to do as they wish with their artwork. You must understand that, without the trust of our artists, there is no 3DCreative/2DArtist. So, please help us to respect artists’ wishes by not disrespecting all their, and our, hard work.
“Why don’t you have bookmarks in your PDFs?”
We have discussed the possibilities of adding this feature to our magazines several times. However, we have decided, for many reasons, to hold the inclusion of this new feature for the time being. Despite many perceptions, we are a very small team here in the UK, and although we would absolutely love to cater to your every whim, we simply do not have the extra time that it will take for us to create these bookmarks, and get two 100+ page magazines out to you every month! Please don’t think that we are trying to shrug you off; we do listen to you, and we do love your ideas, but we simply cannot fulfil every single request that comes through our mailbox… although we certainly do try! ;)
“Can I send my magazine to my friends and colleagues after I have downloaded it for myself?”
We cannot stress the importance enough of NOT doing this! By doing this, you are effectively causing Zoo Publishing great hardship, and although we would love for the whole world to be reading our magazines, if they are doing so for free, then we are losing revenue, and the long-term stability of our magazines is being put in jeopardy. Although you may think that it will not hurt just to send it to your friend, the chain then begins, and it can go from person to person, and can spiral out of control. Please respect Zoo Publishing by not partaking in this illegal copying/redistribution of our magazines, and please, please do not put our magazines on your shared drives for everyone to access! Although this may seem like a cool idea, and will make all your friends/colleagues happy – we will suffer by this kind of abuse of our magazines. Please think before you act in such ways – all we ask for is your respect.
SUBSCRIPTIONS
"How exactly do subscriptions work?"
When you subscribe to Zoo Publishing Magazines, you will be automatically issued with the most current issue of the magazine. For each following month you will then automatically receive your download link by email when the magazine goes on sale, within the first week of each new month, until your subscription ends. When you subscribe to Zoo PublishingMagazines it is advisable that you check your email filter settings, to make sure our emails will not be blocked or deleted as junk or spam. Please allow emails from sales@zoopublishing.com, to prevent download links from going astray.
"How will i know when my subscription has ended?"
Once you subscription ends, you will be sent an email reminder to let you know that you will need to purchase a new subscription in order to receive the latest issue. This email will contain direct links to do so and will be sent to the same address as your download links.
ADVERTISING
"
I'm interested in running an advertisement in your magazines, but I don't know how much it'll cost or which sizes you handle (full page, half page, etc.). What are my options?"
To advertise in Zoo Publishing magazines, the cost is just $100.00 per each full-page advertisement placed. We currently offer just the full-page advertising space, but if you have any other requirements, for example, a half-page or quarter-page, then we will look into the possibility of slotting these in to the magazine, and pricing them accordingly, so please contact lynette@zoopublishing.com for further help and advice.
