Welcome to 3DCreative Issue 27. This month we feature the penultimate instalment of the ‘3D Environment Lighting’ tutorial series, so be sure to flip to the back of the magazine to check out how to light an interior scene by candlelight! If you’ve missed any of the previous parts of this series, don’t fret - you can pick up all the back issues of 3DCreative Magazine here: http://www.3dcreativemag.com/issues.htm. Tutorial-wise, we also have a couple of other treats for you this month, of course; Wayne Robson has written a great little tutorial on his ‘speed sculpting’ techniques in ZBrush, which is a definite must-read...more

Welcome to Issue 26. This month we have an interview with The Light Works, based in Germany. They produce sci-fi renders and much more for the sci-fi TV and film industries. We hope the interview will give you an insight into the kinds of paths that can be followed once you’ve learnt that 3D package and are looking for somewhere to apply your knowledge and skills. We have backed this up with a piece...more

Welcome
to our second year in business! Last month, along with 3DTotal, we ventured across the pond to attend a booth at this year’s Siggraph expo in San Diego, California. It was really great meeting all who visited the 3DTotal booth, especially our readers and contributors alike. We also hope that this month there are some new readers joining us, as we certainly saw a lot of interest in the magazines and a lot of surprised faces when we explained exactly what you get in...more

Well. We have hit issue 24, which on the outset doesn’t seem like much but it kind of means that we hae now been making 3D Creative Magazine for 2 years now. In that time we have made a lot of changes to the style of the mag, and we hope that we are also providing as much great content as possible. To put it in perspective, here is something we didnt know 2 years ago that we know now...more

A Plea for Your Help...
Welcome to Issue 22. Firstly, we would like to ask something small from each of you... We know that most of you enjoy our magazines, and that you think the cover price is fair. However, we also know that a minority of our readers have not paid for this magazine, but have downloaded it from either a website, or a company server, and so on...more

So, May is here and in the UK we are having an unusually early start to the Summer. We’re not quite cranking up the air conditioning quite yet but it is pleasant - it’s nice, very nice. It has put us all in a good mood, far away from the doom and gloom of the long, cold winter (apologies to our Scandinavian readers; I know your winters are much longer and colder than ours, but hey, that’s why you can ski better than us so it’s all fair in the end)...more

Well, I suppose issue 20 is a miniature milestone for us; if anything it’s a reason to go for a drink after work! But, then again, do we even need a reason? 3DCreative is now constantly hitting the 150+ page total, so we are utterly exhausted and deserve a rest... but there’s no chance! I am going to over work the staff here until they drop! (That last sentence was just to test to see if they are even reading this part.)...more

Welcome to another huge edition of 3DCreative Magazine. Focusing on the creative and artistic side of 3D CG as we do, we hope that you are enjoying our current series on the art of composition. We felt that with all the new technology appearing such as in Next Gen Games (series in this months mag) and in 3D in general, it was time for a return to traditional artistic values and concepts. We feel that sometimes artists can get all too caught up in the technology that some times basic concepts and principles are forgotten...more

Hello again. Thanks for sticking with us through our ‘technological transfer’ when 3DCreative starts to make full use of the digital features we posess. We have a slight delay on the protection of the mag but soon we will have a fantastic new system to make life easier for all of you! This month we are very pleased that the mag is continuing to remain close to over 150 pages per issue...more
