Welcome to another huge edition of 3DCreative Magazine. Focusing on the creative and artistic side of 3D CG as we do, we hope that you are enjoying our current series on the art of composition. We felt that with all the new technology appearing such as in Next Gen Games (series in this months mag) and in 3D in general, it was time for a return to traditional artistic values and concepts. We feel that sometimes artists can get all too caught up in the technology that some times basic concepts and principles are forgotten.
Take a look and let us know what you think. Also, if you think you need the practice, of if you are up for winning a few great prizes, check out the ‘Stylized Animal Challenge’, a monthly challenge on www.threedy.com and www.conceptart.org forums. Its a great way to learn from others and at the same time show us what you have to offer. Each month we choose a different animal for you guys to create your own version of. So far we have had 2 competitions finish, a third is in the voting stage and the fourth has just started. Great prizes to be won include CD’s, DVD’s and books, all kindly donated by www.3dtotal.com. To be honest, some of the entries have been so good we have decided to feature them in our own galleries!
